Soft hot cross buns, crispy bacon, melted cheese and a sweet citrus maple glaze what's not to love? 😋
What you'll need:
• 8 hot cross buns
• ¾ cup grated cheese
• 8 rashers of bacon
• 40g butter
• ½ cup maple syrup
• Zest and juice of 1 orange
Method:
1️⃣ Melt the butter, maple syrup, orange zest and juice in a saucepan. Simmer until reduced by half.
2️⃣ Pre-cook the bacon for a few minutes.
3️⃣ Top the hot cross buns with grated cheese and bacon.
4️⃣ Drizzle over the orange maple glaze.
5️⃣ Cook on the BBQ for 8–10 minutes until the buns are crispy and the cheese is melted.
Serve hot and enjoy! 🔥🍊🧀🥓
